Do you ever find it hard to
decipher when you are hearing from God? I know this is something I struggle with.
First: Sometimes we pray for something and when things start happening in what could be that direction- we say "yep, its God, this must be his will, great!" But really are we just looking for excuses/signs that say what our will is must also be his will? This can be real confusing and
dangerous at the same time.
Second: We lift up an area of our lives to God.
Surrender the control and tell God we have faith that he will do what is best and lead us in the direction that will be best. Then when things start happening, you say "hold up, I am not sure I am ready for this... I mean I know I said I was, but really now... you think now is the time...I thought this was just going to be a slower process?" You say you give
control to God but when the control really is lost- you freak.
Third: You have a situation or
relationship that you constantly struggle with. You know that God will be the only way you can move past where you are but He never seems to answer? You pray and pray for the right wisdom and hear a lot of silence. You think back to the things he answers right away, you know those less important issues, and you think "well thanks for helping with that but really did you think that was my 1st priority over this bigger issue? I mean can we resolve this one and then move on to the others?" God's timing often leaves me
scratching my head.
It is funny because I always ask God to paint me a
Billboard Sign... you know so I can't mess/mix things up. There have been a few situations where he has given me a billboard sign (not an actual one of course), but
unfortunately this is not usually God's style I guess. So I pose the question how do you decipher when God speaks? Any good tricks up your sleeve? Share.
I do know that God does speak and when we are still long enough to listen, it is much easier to hear! That's all I got.

Until next time... Blog On!
