Girls just want to have FUN!!!

I have had a few "Girl's Weekends"... "Girl's Nights"... "Girl's Dates" etc. recently. There is some kind of new revolution of female power if you will. I honestly LOVE it. For some reason us women tend to push each other down more than pull each other up. So this new trend of "Girl" something going on is FABULOUS. It is just so refreshing to be with women being confident about being women and sharing openly with other women.

So just a few pics from a few of my recent fun Girl's Activities!

Quote of the week

"The chains of habit are generally too small to be felt until they are too strong to be broken."

I really like this quote. Sometimes we don't really realize we are addicted to something...until we try to stop. I think it is so important to evaluate what is "chaining" us from being better or moving to where we want to be.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I celebrated with the Irish a little early this year at the 5 Points St. Patty's Day festival in Columbia!

I had gone last year for the 1st time and had BIG fun so this year although the weather was... well a little wet, I still made the trip down. And I am sure glad I did. We had a huge group all rally and make a day of it. It was a day full of fun memories! So Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. Here's wishing you lots of LUCK!

It must be SPRING....

How do I know? Birds chirping...flowers blooming.....grass a growing....nah none of this stuff, I mean a couple weeks ago did start with 6 inches of snow on Monday and ended with 75 degree weather on Saturday and Sunday...so really who can guess the season. Nah, I know it is almost spring because I have that itch. The itch for a new do that is. Usually once or twice a year I just look in the mirror and think, "I want a new look"...something fresh and exciting! Now last time I got this crazy itch it didn't turn out so well. Honestly I think every time I have done something drastic I have been a little uncertain of the outcome. So what should I do this time? I will get your opinions and who knows.... I might just take them?

Worry

"Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday"

Oh worry... we all do it, yet it is sooooo pointless- right?

What does it help?

I think I worry more than the average person because I am a thinker. Yep, I cannot quit thinking ever. I am always over-analyzing situations. I will sit there and think about a situation that "may" occur in the future and how I will handle it. When really this situation may never occur so why am I wasting time thinking/worrying over it. This is something I am trying to work on. Now don't get me wrong I think there is a certain level of future planning/thinking that must happen to truly get you to where you want to be in life. But also you got to just live in the here and now- right? And in the here and now there is no place for WORRY.

So random thought of the day.... Stop the worry. Use that energy instead for something else. Maybe to share, maybe to do, maybe to love, maybe to hope, maybe to plan, maybe to just LIVE!!!!!

Volvo Girls

My friend enlightened me recently when she told me that one of her guy friends has a theory about girls who drive Volvo suvs.... they are apparently ALL Hot. I mean I am not going to question this theory. Makes sense to me. I will go with it :) Oh wait I am a volvo suv driver...

For real- it is kinda funny how we do stereotype people sometime by the cars they drive or better yet stereotype people who drive certain cars. I personally hate guys who drive sports cars. OK hate is too strong of word but I always think they are trying to prove something. Also, when I see a guy in a truck, I think he must be a good ole boy and probably handy? He could very well be a jerk and get manicures on the weekly- who knows?

It is just interesting how we do stereotype so much by outward appearances though. I guess this is why your parents always made such a fuss over what you were or were not to do. Although I think of myself as a person who really doesn't care too much what others think of me unless they know me, I guess we all have a little part that is concerned with the "impression" we give off to others.

What stereotypes do you have? Share?

God is good...

All the time! There are so many times I think this phrase and just wanted to say it out loud here!
1.) He gives us only what we can handle
2.) He grooms us for what he intended (made us) to do
3.) Shows us love so that we may love one another
4.) Reveals his beauty in a sometimes wicked world (hello nature)
5.) Puts people in our path at just the right time
6.) He is patient in our journey (never gives up on us, even when we give up on ourselves)
7.) His plan is always Greater than we could have ever dreamed
8.) His way is so much easier
9.) Lightens our load, when we allow him
10.) Teaches us Grace, Forgiveness, Mercy, Joy, Peace and all things GOOD!

Yep God is Good...all the time!
